Banango is a literary blog that talks about exciting literature. We like to read stuff. We are also Banango Street, a literary journal. You can email us at banangolit (at) gmail (dot) com if you would like to send us stuff to look at, or you can send a link in our Ask box. We will try to look at it but we have learned to avoid making too many promises.

Also, email us if you feel like you would like to be a contributor for Banango. We would like that also.

I am reading short stories by Lorrie Moore and I am really enjoying them. I feel like the way she writes them is very proto-Internet. I understand why Tao Lin says she is a big influence on him. Her fiction is very imaginative and unique.

I just read Matt Margo’s new novella and blurbed it. I will provide an interview with him on here soon. I felt a little lost but enjoyed it.

Infinite Jest is sitting on my bookshelf. I bought it at Half Price Books. I want to read it but I do not want to start it.

I read a book called Brother Man for my Caribbean Novel class. It was about a Rasta healer. Roger Mais wrote it. It was a good book. I dropped the class.

Tried to read Borges. Did not feel ready.

Purchased Nouns of Assembly but have not started it. It features some of my favorite Alt Lit writers. Housefire published it.

I read some cool short stories: Death of a Rightfielder and Pet Milk by Stu Dybek and The Faerie Handbag by Kelly Link.
